How incredibly rude of me!

Writer's picture: Julie BonsallJulie Bonsall

I just realized that I never provided any of you with the closure you so desperately needed and deserved. I believe my last post was in February of 2021. This happened to also be the month I got Covid. I lost my sense of taste and smell for 42 days! It was horrible. And it really put a damper on my enthuasiam to share with you all the best part of the Hell House--WHEN WE FINISHED! But honestly, a good review shouldn't happen instantly, right? It should be later, after everything has been broken in and we really know the quality of the work.

Three years later, I can without a doubt, that this was the best decision that we have ever made. I would like my bank account to be larger, of course, but the comfort and peace that my home brings me every single day is worth the loss of the cushion we had. It truly is our sanctuary. It is difficult to get us out of the house!

I'm so thankful for the partnership that I have in my husband. We are a committed team. I'm not sure I know many couples that can experience what we experienced and come out on the other side. But here we are, three years later- stronger, happier, and working on NEW projects! The backyard is our focus now. Maybe that will be for another post. I know what you guys really want to see. You need to see. The finished product!

The street view at night. Yes, we do have all that lighting around our house. It's never dark!

The living room/dining room area. We brought in the tongue and groove ceiling to match the outside ceiling that is original to the home. Every color of paint that is in our house, is on this ceiling. We felt it immediately set the tone for the rest of the home.

The next three images are of the kitchen. Three years later and I would not change a thing about this kitchen! It still takes my breath away.

This is the only finish I picked out in the entire house. I love this wood look tile in our guest bathroom. The black grout, however, was so incredibly messy! I remember panicking thinking about how we were going to clean it all up.

Ladies--take a deep breath in. Know that we eliminated a bedroom to have this closet.

Catch me in this tub every Sunday night. It really helps with the Sunday Scaries.

Hidden behind a soundproof door in our primary bathroom is the laundry. I love how close it is to the closet. It just makes so much sense!

And finally, our date night spot--the theater. With 10x2 Dolby Atmos and 102 inch screen, it is really difficult to want to go to the actual theater. I make better popcorn at home anyway.

I hope you all enjoyed the story. We laughed, we cried, we bled, but most importantly--we perservered. The problem now is that Joe and I know we can do absolutely anything together.

We are unstoppable.
